I Can See Clearly Now The Snow Has Gone

We are actually getting to see the sun today. One of the DJs on the radio said, "Now don't call the police about the big ball in the sky that is on fire."

My friend Meredith had a WONDERFUL idea. GO TO THE ZOO. So we took Les and William and Rich kept George. It was perfect. The weather was beautiful and the boys had a great time. Everyone was excited to be outside. Especially the monkeys. The were just swinging and talking to each other. The boys loved it and tried to talk back. We were doing just a quick trip so no big camera but a few shots with my phone. Everyone have a wonderful weekend.

Christmas

Our Christmas was wonderful but there is defiantly a story. So Saturday, December 18th we go to get William up and he has thrown up all in the bed. So we get it cleaned up and he is fine the rest of the day. So we thought he had just eaten too much. Sunday night Rich got sick. Monday night I get sick. It was horrible. Same Monday night, William is up all night with an ear infection. Tuesday was his actually birthday and we did not have enough energy to even sing to him. Thankfully Mimi, Papi, Aunt Kack, "Great", and Big Man called and sang to him. So we left for Dublin, Georgia Thursday to see my family for Christmas. We had a great time. But I am not sure we will be invited anytime soon. Saturday night my brother got sick. And when Rich and I got up Sunday morning my mother, father, and sister-in-law had all gotten sick. Rich and I packed up as fast as we could and headed back to Nashville. I texted them to see how everyone was doing, three hours later my dad wrote back, "LY". That was it. We later found out that Courtenay, my sister-in-law, ran into the door frame, cut her head and knocked herself out. My brother was so sick that when he found her, he just put a blanket on her and left her. She had a big goose egg on her head.

At least we got to enjoy Christmas day. Here are some pictures. We enjoyed hanging out, seeing Christmas lights and opening gifts.

Smitty had a cupcake and we did finally get to sing happy birthday to William. He loved it.

Christmas Eve Dinner

Christmas morning

Funny story. My dad hates spiders. My mom and I saw this big spider in a magazine and thought it would be funny to have it crawl out on dad Christmas morning. So Christmas Eve and Christmas morning we started talking about this big problem with spiders. Brad had the remote control trying to get it to crawl out but the spider kept getting stuck. When we finally got it to crawl out and onto dads leg he yelled, "Good god". It was so funny.

William: This is how you do it George.

This is how William spent his time while we opened gifts. He did love playing with everything later.

Birthday and Baptism

I am sorry it has been so long. The Pankow house has been a mad house. Here is our crazy life in bullet points:

- Me back to work full time
- a two year old
- celebrating two year old's birthday
- a three almost 4 month old
- baptizing George
- stomach bug, more on this later
- ear infection
- Christmas

Well we celebrated William's 2nd birthday. Is that not crazy. He has been in our lives for two years. He is the funniest little guy. He keeps Rich and I laughing all the time. He loves music and dancing, well marching like an elephant around the kitchen island. When we are getting on to him he will cut his eyes at you and blink them really fast. He is so sweet and loving at the same time. And the boy can eat.

We had a great party with lots of family and friends. The doughnut holes were a hit with the kids and the bloody mary's and mimosas were a hit with the adults. William loved having all of his family and friends over. I am still working on the birthday favors. I had each child make a brown thumb print and we then drew antlers and put a red nose and made reindeer. On the other side we have their name and I need to print off pictures and put them in a clear acrylic key chain holder. I took the key chain off and put a red ribbon and they will be ornaments. There are really cute.

The baptism was beautiful. George wore the same gown William wore. My mom has sewn in their initials and birth date and baptism date on the slip. We had to send William out in the middle of the baptism. He had enough of being proper. George did not like the water but was fine once Pastor Jack started walking him around and showing him off as everyone sang Away In a Manager. It was beautiful.

William with George's paci, I guess he is having a conservation with God maybe praying that his mom would not dress him this way anymore. But his mommy is not listening. :)

My sweet friends who came and supported us. It will always be a beautiful image in my mind seeing them sitting behind us.

This was my grandfathers', Calvin Oliver Smith, cap that he wore when he was baptised and his grandmother made it for him. William and George have both worn it.
